It’s forward-thinking while still retaining the history and resources of the area. We may have started as a crab town, but Baltimore has become a foodie mecca. From hand crafted street eats to James Beard Award-winning chefs, Downtown’s restaurateurs are torchbearers for creative and diverse cuisine from all around the world. Here, it’s always about the food.

Downtown Baltimore takes food seriously. We've had over 60 new restaurants open since 2017, and we've got delicious events and food festivals year round, including Baltimore Restaurant Week, August 2-11, 2019. And if you're into perusing farmers markets and taking the bounty of the Chesapeake into your own kitchen we've got plenty of options, like the Pratt Street Market and Sundays under the JFX.
