Operation:
Storefront
Ever dream of starting your own business? Here’s your
chance. OPERATION: Storefront, a new Downtown
Partnership program, will help inspired people activate
Downtown’s vacant first-floor spaces. The goal: to fill
Downtown Baltimore to the brim with exciting, creative, and
promising young businesses.
The Partnership is seeking proposals from landlords with
available space, or from artists, non-profits, and aspiring
or established retailers and restaurateurs looking to
temporarily set up shop in unused first-floor space in
Downtown-area buildings.
OPERATION: Storefront will provide budding
entrepreneurs with the time, guidance, and funding to turn
their ideas into reality. Successful applicants will be
awarded grant money of up to $10,000 for costs associated
with occupying currently unused space and operating that
space, even if only on a temporary basis.
Proposals are due by November 22, 2010 and may be downloaded
at:
www.GoDowntownBaltimore.com.
