New Circulator Launching January 11!

Please join the City of Baltimore, Al Foxx, Director of the Department of Transportation, and Downtown Partnership President, Kirby Fowler, as we launch the first route of the new, FREE, Charm City Circulator at the Baltimore Convention Center (bus loop at Sharp and Pratt Streets). On January 11 at 11 a.m., the Circulator fleet of hybrid electric vehicles (the largest such fleet in the country according to the manufacturer) will begin providing a new, convenient, and frequent way for business people, residents, students, and tourists to get around Downtown Baltimore.

The first route to begin operating will be the east-west Orange Route along the Pratt / Lombard corridor. This route takes riders in a loop past the B&O Railroad Museum, the University of Maryland Biopark, University Hospital, and University of Maryland professional schools, Camden Yards and the Convention Center, Inner Harbor, and Harbor East. Both the Green Route, which will connect Johns Hopkins Hospital with Fells Point and Harbor East, and the Purple Route, which will connect Federal Hill and the Cross Street Market area with Penn Station, will launch in the spring.

Visit www.charmcitycirculator.com for information and details about the circulator, and routes and stops.

New VIP Program

The Historic Charles Street Association (HCSA) has launched a new program to encourage people who live and work in the area to buy locally. HCSA is soliciting retailers, restaurants and businesses on Charles Street to offer discounts or specials which will be listed online at www.CharlesStreet.net.

In return, the HCSA is issuing VIP discount cards to fellow members, their employees, tenants and guests. These cards have the link to the website printed on them so holders can view who the participating businesses are, and what specials are offered.

The HCSA is already distributing single-use VIP discount cards to our members, including apartment buildings, hotels and commercial office buildings.

HCSA’s mission is to support local businesses and attractions in the Historic Charles Street district, and with the launch of this program we hope to retain and grow the businesses along one of Baltimore’s most treasured main streets.
