Access Your Office in an Emergency
Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake is encouraging Baltimore businesses to participate in the CEAS program. The program enables critical employees to access their offices after emergency situations - such as water main breaks or severe snowstorms.

Join Downtown Partnership in obtaining CEAS credentials for your critical employees. Through the program, credentialed employees can enter restricted areas to visit their businesses, quickly assess damage, maintain core IT systems, meet regulatory obligations and secure or remove vital records and data.

The Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management oversees the program, in conjunction with the Business Network of Emergency Resources. To learn more, visit www.ceas.com. To read a letter from Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake regarding the CEAS program, click here.

Treasures of Heaven: Saints, Relics & Devotion in Medieval Europe
A new exhibit Treasures of Heaven: Saints, Relics & Devotion in Medieval Europe will open at The Walters February 13-May 15, 2011. Cost is $8 for adults; $6 for seniors; $4 Young adults (18-25); and free children 17 & under/Members.

Gaze into the Middle Ages, a time when art mediated between heaven and earth and wondrous objects of gold, silver and precious gems filled churches and treasuries. Relics, the physical remains of saints, were displayed in special containers, known as reliquaries. Reliquaries were revered, sought after and attracted pilgrims. Their ornate exteriors reminded the faithful of the extraordinary matter held within. This exhibition features over 130 sculptures, paintings and manuscripts, gathered from world-class collections, including the Louvre and the Vatican. This is the first exhibition in the United States to focus on the history of relics and reliquaries.

New Visiting Exhibit at Port Discovery
Through May 31, 2011 - Celebrating Who I Am: A Children’s Art Exhibition

VSA arts and CVS Caremark All Kids Can asked students, ages 5 through 15, to consider what makes them unique and to share with us their interests, talents, and dreams through art. In the process, children were able to enjoy new experiences and discover themselves as artists. A selection of submissions to the All Kids Can CREATE! online gallery is featured within the exhibition Celebrating Who I Am.

This collection of artwork gives us a glimpse into young artists’ lives from all 50 states and the District of Columbia—favorite animals, toys, and pastimes, career aspirations, and how they view themselves. Through their visual stories, we are reminded of the richness of the arts and that all kids can and want to create.
