Red Line
Station Area Advisory Committees (SAACs)
The
Maryland Transit Administration (MTA)
would like to provide community stakeholders (station area
residents, businesses, churches, organizations, and
institutions) the opportunity to participate in the process of
designing how the 20 proposed light rail stations will integrate
into their communities. We encourage interested community
stakeholders to nominate themselves to serve on a station area
advisory committee (SAAC) in their area.
The SAACs will advise the MTA on Station Location, Design,
Alignment and Traffic Issues, Naming, and Area Planning.
Committees will ensure that stations support community plans and
visions, including development, and redevelopment if
appropriate. Consistent with the Community Compact, transit
oriented development and creating and sustaining mixed-income
communities will be a goal.
information about the SAACs.
