Be Fit Baltimore: A Kids' Month Event

Supported by the Ravens, the Orioles, the Office of Mayor Sheila Dixon, and the Dept of Recs and Parks.

Kids and parents, make a splash at the Aquarium in October! Tots and Tales, Wednesdays October 7 - 28. Story at 10 a.m. followed by children's music. Special performance by Milkshake, October 7! Shake, Rattle & Roll

On October 24, the Baltimore Child Abuse Center is hosting a Halloween benefit called Shake, Rattle & Roll. Milkshake, one of the biggest acts in kids rock, will be playing. I hope you and your family can join us. What makes this benefit unique is that you don't need to put on a tux or formal dress and you don't need a babysitter for your kids - here's an event where you can bring your family along and promote a great cause - ending sexual child abuse. And thanks to generous supporters, your ticket is a donation to support BCAC.

Free Fall Baltimore

Free Fall Baltimore returns through October 31. The city-wide arts extravaganza offers visitors an array of free creative arts events including dance and musical concerts, classes and hands-on projects, lectures, history and heritage tours and theatrical shows. More than 70 organizations have collaborated to provide residents and visitors free activities in venues throughout Baltimore City. Families that are looking for free, educational, and fun activities can enjoy more than 300 events at top area attractions for the entire month of October. Seating and capacity may be limited; therefore, many events require advance reservations to be made.

A Knight at the Disco
The Walters Art Museum’s annual fall fundraiser, October 17 at 9 p.m. Dancing, drinks and desserts. The Sculpture Court will be alive with disco balls and Kempton Ingersol playing his selection of great dance music. Admission: $100 per person includes open bar, sweets and savories, and dancing.

October Fun at the B&O Railroad Museum
Railfest Steam Days weekend Saturday, October 17, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., and Sunday, October 18 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Steam engine train rides behind the historic St. Elizabeth! Programs and demonstrations highlight steam power and celebrate the Museum's historic steam collection. Model steam layout and blacksmith demonstrations too!

Toddler Time Halloween Celebration & Costume Parade Wednesday, October 28, 10:30 a.m.
Children parade around the Museum campus to collect special treats. Kiddie train ride too! All included with paid admission. Recommended for children between the ages of 2-5.

Hollywood: The Epics
The BSO SuperPops season kicks off with Jack Everly leading the BSO and the Baltimore Choral Arts Society in soundtracks from Hollywood October 9-10 at Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. You'll be transported by uplifted voices and orchestra performing epic film scores from the silver screen, including music from Lawrence of Arabia, Ben-Hur, Star Wars, Gone with the Wind, and Titanic, with a special tribute to John Williams. New Date! Rappel for Kidney Health

The National Kidney Foundation of Maryland hosts its inaugural Rappel for Kidney Health event Friday, November 19 at the 1st Mariner Tower (1501 S. Clinton St.) overlooking the Canton waterfront. People of all ages are invited to rappel down a 17-story Baltimore landmark. Event proceeds will help NKF-MD to expand its patient services, education and research efforts.
