| Pratt Street Redesign
Plans for the revitalization of Pratt Street (from President Street to Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard) are well underway. In cooperation with the Baltimore Development Corporation and the City Departments of Planning and Transportation, the project's design team, Ayers Saint Gross and Olin Partnership, has been retained and is currently working on a master plan that will guide the transformation of this important thoroughfare. Already, berms have come down on the north side (east of Charles Street), new retail and outdoor dining has been added at the Verizon Building, and plans to install a gateway water feature at President Street are under way. Ultimately, we want Pratt Street to become a grand boulevard similar to Michigan Avenue in Chicago, where pedestrians can enjoy street-level shops, cafes, and world-class public art and landscaping.
