Downtown Public Safety Coalition
Downtown Partnership launched the Public Safety Coalition more than a decade ago to provide a more comprehensive approach to keeping Downtown safe. Through monthly meetings and daily e-mails, the Coalition links The Partnership, Baltimore Police Department, The State's Attorney office, building and hotel security, property managers, federal agents, and property & business owners. The goal is to share information and innovative ways to make Downtown - already the safest area in the city - even safer.

For more information, contact Larry Lewis at 410.244.1030.

Video Patrol
The Video Patrol program was initiated in 1996 to improve the public's sense of safety and act as a deterrent to crime. Video Patrol now has 155 cameras that are just one part of an overall Downtown safety plan which contributed to a 47% decrease in crime between 2000 and 2006.

For more information, contact Tom Yeager at 410.244.1030.

Street Smarts Training & Education
The Partnership is spreading information about public safety to Downtown residents, office workers, and visitors. Through printed materials, table displays, and safety seminars, we reach several thousand people each year with tips on how to keep themselves and their belongings safe.
